Hyundai Unveils Facelifted IONIQ 6 and Bold IONIQ 6 N Line at Seoul Mobility Show 2025

Hyundai Motor Company has raised the bar in the electric vehicle market with the unveiling of the redesigned IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 6 N Line at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025. The facelifted IONIQ 6 builds on the success of the original, award-winning 2022 model, bringing a more refined design and improved performance. The introduction of the IONIQ 6 N Line variant adds a sportier, more aggressive touch to the popular streamliner, signalling Hyundai's commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle design and performance.

A New Standard for Electrified Streamliners

Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 has set the standard for what electrified streamliners can be, and now, the facelifted version has taken that vision even further. “IONIQ 6 has evolved from a single Electrified Streamliner into a line up, each model expressing its own character while staying true to one refined vision,” said Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Centre.

The updated IONIQ 6 follows the new design philosophy of ‘Pure Flow, Refined,’ focusing on cleaner lines, more natural body flow, and an enhanced aerodynamic profile. The elevated hood, shark-nose design, and streamlined body featuring a black garnish along the lower body work in tandem to create a sleek, almost futuristic silhouette. Hyundai has also removed the prominent rear spoiler, opting for a more refined ducktail design that maintains aerodynamics while enhancing the vehicle's overall look.

The front and rear of the IONIQ 6 have been reworked for a more high-tech and modern appearance. The updated design now incorporates slim DRLs (daytime running lights) and separate main lamps, while horizontal elements give the car a wider, more dynamic stance. The rear bumper design has also been refined with the addition of modern chrome garnish, adding a touch of sophistication to the vehicle’s sleek look.

Mindful Cocoon Interior and Enhanced User Experience

Inside the IONIQ 6, Hyundai has stayed true to the ‘Mindful Cocoon’ concept but enhanced it for a more intuitive and comfortable experience. The redesigned steering wheel and upgraded door trim materials offer a more premium feel, while the reworked centre console layout improves functionality. The climate control display has also been enlarged for easier use, ensuring that drivers can focus on what matters most—enjoying the ride.

IONIQ 6 N Line: Bold, Aggressive, and Ready for Performance

Alongside the newly redesigned IONIQ 6, Hyundai unveiled the IONIQ 6 N Line, which brings an added sense of sportiness and aggression to the electrified streamliner. Drawing inspiration from the RN22e Rolling Lab released in 2022, the IONIQ 6 N Line features bold, wing-shaped bumpers at both the front and rear. These enhancements, combined with sculptural detailing and a pronounced side sill, give the N Line a visually lower, more aggressive stance.

Hyundai has made extensive use of black accents at the rear of the N Line, a design element inspired by the RN22e. The two-dimensional Parametric Pixel lamp design reinforces a digital, high-tech aesthetic, adding to the vehicle’s futuristic appeal. With these aggressive design changes, the IONIQ 6 N Line makes a powerful statement as a high-performance variant within the IONIQ 6 line up.

Looking to the Future: IONIQ 6 N

In addition to the IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 6 N Line, Hyundai teased the highly anticipated IONIQ 6 N, promising to deliver a true high-performance electrified streamliner. Set to be unveiled in July this year, the IONIQ 6 N will push the limits of performance, driving dynamics, and design to new heights.

A Step Forward for Hyundai’s Electrification Strategy

With the updated IONIQ 6 and the introduction of the IONIQ 6 N Line, Hyundai is continuing to solidify its position as a leader in the electric vehicle market. The facelifted IONIQ 6 and its sportier N Line variant bring forward-thinking design, performance, and technology, setting the stage for the future of electrified mobility.

As Hyundai moves closer to the full reveal of the IONIQ 6 N, the brand’s electrified streamliner line up is quickly shaping up to be one of the most exciting offerings in the world of electric vehicles. For those looking for a sleek, high-performance EV with a modern design and cutting-edge features, the new IONIQ 6 is a compelling option.
